Puppy Breeder Business Photos | Anthem, AZ

I had the pleasure of working with Catella Cavaliers and Cavapoos. Sarah, a small family dog breeder, commissioned me to photograph her pups for her website update. As an animal lover, I was thrilled with the opportunity.

I always create a planning sheet for every session, and this time I sent it to Sarah for her input. We made a few changes, and now we’re both on the same page in terms of expectations for the photography session. This is crucial because when taking photos of puppies, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos and creativity, but having a plan helps keep me focused.

We both live in Anthem, Arizona, and Sarah has a big, beautiful backyard where I took the photographs. This is their space, and the pups were most comfortable there.

I photographed her three adult dogs first, and then I took pictures of the puppies. The most challenging part was getting all of them to stay in a basket together, but we managed by giving them some cheese to slow them down a bit. Since my camera is fast and I was ready, we were able to capture some really cute action shots along the way.

I didn’t visit Sarah with the intention of buying a puppy. I went there to work. Sarah had one pup that didn’t have a home, so I took some more photographs of him for advertising purposes. He was very easygoing and happily stayed longer for me to photograph. As Sarah explained the benefits of his breed, he sounded perfect for our family.
We adopted him and kept his name Prince, because he already knew it and would come when we called him.

Sarah takes great care of her dogs! They are very well-socialized, and our little pup had no trouble playing and cuddling with my kids once he came home. Sarah knew her puppies personalities, which is what I loved most. She has been with this litter since birth and has first-hand experience with their tendencies and strengths. Her puppies were raised in a home, going out for potty breaks with mom and siblings, and then using pee pads in between. Once our puppy came to our home, he had a great start for potty training. He went outside often and used the pee pad when necessary.

I was impressed by how Sarah from Catella Cavaliers and Cavapoos socialized her puppies, understood their personalities to help me choose the right one for my family, and gave them a great start with potty training! Visit her website HERE
