Flagstaff Family Portrait

I went up to Flagstaff earlier this week to do a family photo session! The drive was so worth it. It was a perfect 80 degrees and had a beautiful drive with cumulous clouds to enjoy. I met them at a cabin they like to rent out when they need to get away. I could tell photographing them in their space that they were comfortable and happy. The best part is, I have photographed this family three times now! The best compliment for my work, is getting to do it again.

Baby Girl Portrait

This Baby girl was so happy to be doing new things, standing all on her own. Babies are so much fun to photograph, in all their many stages. Do you have a love that is growing like a little desert rose? I would love to photograph your kiddos, from Baby to High School Senior.

Hummingbird Glass Art

I met Kim because I purchased one of her art pieces in a local shop and I was impressed at the rich colors and detail in her work.  She can even make specialty art upon request.  I asked her to make me a hummingbird for my daughter’s birthday.  It turned out beautifully!

Her Facebook page is Kim Mergen Glass Design.  She does a lot of custom stained-glass windows for homes also!

Story Behind the Hummingbird
My daughter believes hummingbirds are lucky because God sent her one when she was having a hard time.  She was having trouble fitting in to her sports team and felt out of place after I picked her up from practice.  She was telling me about it when we saw a tiny red hummingbird sitting on a wire.  I drove up really close to it and rolled down the window.  It stayed, and it was eye level to her.  She was in awe because we normally see green ones, so the coloring was unusual and that it stayed and let us get up close.  As we left, she laughed out loud for joy and said, “God loves me.  He needed I needed that!”
