Drop Everything & Read Day!

I heard from Molly that yesterday was Drop Everything and Read Day! I love that!

I have been reading to my kids since they were babies. We take regular trips to the library and the children regularly want books as gifts for birthdays or holidays. 2/3 of my kiddos just naturally enjoy reading. My other child is very active, his first words besides mama and dada, was “go, go, go”. But because we had regular quiet times when they were younger and have strict rules about how much tv/tech time they can do, my little go, go, go toddler is now a boy that reads daily. The little guy featured is my Best friend’s little guy. She has a bookstagram account and has been the giver of many books to my children over the years!

Jesus Loves you Art Piece

I created this portrait of Jesus years ago. It is still one of my favorite art pieces that I have made. I especially share it again with my children as part of teaching them the Easter story. We go through the last days of Jesus’ life starting with palm Sunday, and ending with a celebration of his resurrection the following Sunday. This image of Christ nobly depicts his submission to his Father’s will to take upon himself the sins of the world. When I show this to my children I remind them, that Jesus prayed for them individually there in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus knows each one of us. I am grateful for the beliefs that I hold dear and that my Savior has truly been a friend to me while on my journey on earth. I hope you have a wonderful Easter with your loved ones and remember how much Jesus loves you.
